Disadvantages of iPod Jailbreaking

iPod is a very popular and very common device among young generation made by Apple. iPod commonly used for listening to songs or for watching a video or movie. This device is also like iPhone but it doesn't have the cell phone services like call making, text messages.

One can go for iPod jailbreaking, so the iPod should be open to install various applications that the normal iPod do not allow. As jailbreaking has number of advantages, on the other hand, it also have some disadvantages for the iPod.

Jailbreaking gives you the ability to install any third party app you can find, instead of just those on the App store, like an SSH terminal client, or that nifty app that adds email and calendar information to the 'slide to unlock' screen. It also allows you to crack apps people bought from the app store and install them for free.

If the iPod jailbreaking process goes wrong, then at the end the device will not turn on or it will not respond anymore. If this happen, nothing can be done to restore the device. Moreover, Apple won't take any responsibility for this. One would not be able to get the software updates anymore about the device.

After that the applications might not be able to run on the iPod. This is so because, the new applications will be built on new operating system. One won't be able to install the new applications on the current one on which the iPod is running.

If a user is not using the jailbroken iPod, user can be disconnected from the Apps Store. User have to download the applications from third party.

If the user need to repair the iPod, he should have to restore the iPod back to factory settings, which means the data will be lost. But if one don't do this, Apple won't repair the device. The device can go through crashing and freezing since it is not under control of system. User will have to deal with it.
